What to Bring to Iguazu Falls: Complete Packing List

Complete Packing List for Iguazu Falls

Packing the right gear makes the difference between an amazing day and an uncomfortable one. Here's your complete checklist.

Clothing and Footwear

  • Closed-toe shoes with non-slip soles — the walkways get wet. Avoid flip-flops or sandals
  • Lightweight, quick-dry clothing — moisture-wicking t-shirt, athletic shorts
  • Rain poncho or waterproof cape — you will get wet on the Lower Circuit and at Devil's Throat
  • Change of clothes in your backpack — to change into after the tour
  • Hat or cap — the subtropical sun is intense

Protection

  • SPF 50+ sunscreen — even on cloudy days
  • Insect repellent — there are mosquitoes year-round
  • Sunglasses with a strap

Tech

  • Dry bag or large ziplock — for your phone and camera
  • Power bank — you'll take lots of photos
  • Phone with Google Maps downloaded offline

Food and Water

  • Reusable water bottle (there are drinking fountains in the park)
  • Snacks — fruit, granola bars. Food inside the park is expensive

Documentation

  • National ID or passport — required to buy tickets
  • Tickets purchased online (recommended to skip lines)
  • Cash and card — some vendors only accept cash

What NOT to Bring

  • ❌ Heavy luggage or suitcases (there's no public luggage storage)
  • ❌ Food for animals — don't feed the coatis
  • ❌ Drones — they're prohibited inside the park
  • ❌ Pets — not allowed
